Orthodontic Awareness Hour – Smiling Bharat 2.0
The Department of Orthodontics at Saveetha Dental College, in association with the Indian Orthodontic Society and Madras Orthodontic Study Group, proudly launched the Smiling Bharat 2.0 initiative through a special event titled “Orthodontic Awareness Hour: A Step Towards a Healthier You.”
This impactful program was aimed at educating the public and patients on the importance of recognizing and treating malocclusion for improved oral and general health. The initiative was presided over by two eminent guests:

·Dr. Vijayadhith, Convener, Madras Orthodontic Society
The event commenced at 9:00 AM and witnessed active participation from faculty, postgraduates, and a diverse group of attendees. With a strong emphasis on patient interaction and education, the session was thoughtfully conducted by postgraduate students under expert faculty guidance.
A total of 52 people attended, in addition to several patients, making it a vibrant and successful kickoff for the Smiling Bharat movement at Saveetha. The highlight of the session was the one-hour talk titled “One Hour, One Talk, A Lifetime of Better Smiles,” which emphasized accessible orthodontic care for all.
The program was a unique blend of academic, clinical, and community engagement, reflecting Saveetha Dental College’s commitment to oral health outreach and education.
